Lakers' LeBron James out vs. Memphis Grizzlies due to injury

The Los Angeles Lakers will make their first and only trip to Memphis to face the Grizzlies Tuesday (6:30 p.m., TNT/Bally Sports Southeast). However, LeBron James will not play.

James was ruled out by the Lakers due to right foot soreness. He re-aggravated the injury during Sunday's win over at the Dallas Mavericks and was seen limping as he left the arena.

LATE GAME ISSUES:Why the Memphis Grizzlies are struggling to close out games they're leading late

James, the NBA's all-time leading scorer, had 23 points, nine rebounds and six assists in 37 minutes when the Lakers defeated the Grizzlies on Jan. 21. In 43 career games against the Grizzlies, he's averaged 25.4 points, 7.5 rebounds and 7.9 assists.

The news could affect the crowd for Tuesday's game. Whenever James or the Lakers come to Memphis, it usually leads to a strong, loud atmosphere at FedExForum.

D'Angelo Russell was also listed as doubtful with a right ankle sprain for the Lakers. The Grizzlies won't have center Steven Adams, who remains out due to a sprained right knee.
