The boys in the starting blocks may change every year, but the results remain the same.

Lakeview continued its dominance in the annual All-City Boys Swimming and Diving Meet at Battle Creek Central High School on Saturday.

Lakeview won the event for the 32nd straight year as the Spartans finished first with 577 team points, followed by Harper creek with 330 and Battle Creek Central with 230.

"We have a great tradition of performing well in big meets, and as a Lakeview swimmer I feel it's our duty to keep this going and win All-City every year," Lakeview senior Danny Borozan said.

Although it's been a long streak for the Spartans overall, for Lakeviewcoach Andy Fredenburg, it was only his second straight All-City title as coach after taking over for longtime Spartan leader Kyle Lott.

"This is a fun, spirited meet," Fredenburg said. "The guys get excited for this. They have fun racing against Harper Creek, Battle Creek ... and today all three teams had strong swimmers at the top end, so that was good to see."

Lakeview took first place in eight events, but what made the score a little one-sided is that the Spartans also took second and third in several events.

"Depth is big for us in a meet like this," Fredenburg said. "We have have four swimmers in every event, so even if someone is brand new to an event, we are getting points and all our swimmers are making an impact."

Borozan and Tyler Youngs-Ball led the way for Lakeview, with each winning four events.

Borozan was first in the 200 IM with a time of 2:11.25 and also had a first individually in the 100 butterfly in 55.88. Youngs-Ball took first in the 100 freestyle in 52.56 and won the 50 free in 23.98.

Borozan and Youngs-Ball were both also on the winning 200 medley relay, along with Jack Darland and Miguel Gonzalez, which finished first in 1:46.45.

Borozan's fourth first place came in the 400 relay, along with the team of Darland, Cody Richard and Christian Hancock in a time of 3:36.37. Youngs-Ball led the winning 200 free relay with the team of Hancock, Evan Yarger and Jaymes Hilton in a time of 1:37.05.

"It's awesome to have success at the All-City," Youngs-Ball said. "Every day we put in a lot of effort into what we do. And it shows up in meets like the All-City. It's awesome to be able to say we're All-City champs."

The Spartans went first and second in the diving with Hunter Hayes-Boyer winning with a score of 248.10 and Peyton Elder taking second at 222.35.

Justin LaFleur had a strong day for Harper Creek, winning the 500 free in 5:01.95, and taking first in the 200 free in 1:51.27. Carson Wager took first for the Beavers in the 100 backstroke in 1:00.25, while also taking second in the 200 IM.

Battle Creek Central finished first in an individual event at the All-City meet for the first time in recent memory as Kipras Ajauskas won the 100 breaststroke in 1:05.44.
