The senior defending champ. And the new star.

Athletes on both ends of the experience spectrum stole the show at the annual All-City Track Championship at Lakeview on Friday night.

Lakeview's Caleb Bost, who was voted Most Outstanding Performer of the boys meet last year, won the award again, making the meet an early highlight to his final season with the Spartans.

In the girls meet, a sprinter in her first season ever running track — Battle Creek Central's Erykah Alexander — was voted Most Outstanding Performer in, literally, her first few weeks of high school competition.

Lakeview continues to cook when it comes to the All-City Track Meet as both the boys and girls teams completed a baker's dozen, both winning the event for the 13th straight time.

The Lakeview boys finished with 240.5 points, with Harper Creek second with 151.5 and Battle Creek Central third at 79.5.

"We have great senior class," Lakeview boys coach Matt Miller said. "We have 22 seniors and they really showed strong today. Our kids get excited about the city meet. It's the only time they see these teams all year long. The tradition of winning it every year is something we talk about a lot."

The Spartan boys had 10 first-place finishes, including four that Bost was a part of. Bost won the 400 meters in 50.58 seconds and took first in the 800 in 2:04.81. Bost was also part of two winning relays. He ran the anchor leg, along with Aiden Moore, Austin Lee to win the 3,200 relay in 9:00.28. The Spartans finished the night by taking first in the 1,600 relay with the team of Lee, Josh Turner, Davis Barr and Bost in 3:33.28.

"Two in a row is great, winning this trophy. But getting the title with my team also winning, that's what really matters," Bost said. ".... To see my guys celebrating with the championship trophy, that's the big thing."

Also coming up big for Lakeview in the championship effort was senior Andrew Berryhill, who took first in the shot put with a meet-record throw of 58 feet, 8- nches. He also won the discus at 132-10.

Junior distance runner Aiden Moore took care of his individual races for Lakeview, winning the 1,600 in 4:29.82 and the 3,200 in 9:50.56.

The Spartans' Davis Barr also took two individual titles, winning the 300 hurdles in 40.97 and the long jump in 20-11.25.

Battle Creek Central did well in the sprint events, as senior Jar'rece Johnson won the 100 in 11.29 and BCC senior Cameron Daniels won the 200 in 23.49. BCC also took first in the high jump as Vitor Colodino won at 6-2 in his first time competing in the event.

Harper Creek broke through for an individual title in the pole vault as Mason Korn took first at 11-6. The Beavers also won the 110 hurdles as Joey DeRose finished first at 16.12.

Harper Creek won the 400 relay with the team of Adam Torres, Gabe Sayao, Bronson Carpenter and Nehemiah Wert in 45.12. The Beavers' team of Tre'Quon Cotton, Joe Cummins, Nehemiah Wert and Ryan Wallace won the 800 relay in 1:34.30.

Overall, the Lakeview girls won six events for a team total of 203, with Harper Creek second with 152 and BCC third at 74.

"Depth was really big for us tonight," Lakeview girls coach Becky Pryor said. "We have a really young team, so wasn't sure how it was going to fall tonight. I know everybody is coming for us, so we had to be strong and everybody did their job tonight."
