Vote for this week's Herald-Tribune Athlete of the Week

Lakewood Ranch High football player Clayton Dees was selected as the Herald-Tribune Athlete  of the Week for the week ending Sept. 9.

The quarterback received 2,453 of the 5,197 votes cast, 47.2 percent.

Out-of-Door Academy girls golfer Madeline Crosby finished second with 1,063 votes. Out-of-Door volleyball player Keira Baldwin was third.

Shot a 35 and was the medalist in a match against Parrish Community, Braden River, Palmetto and Manatee

Had 18 aces, 2 kills and a block against Genesis Prep

Sophia Ulvestad, Sarasota, girls swimming

Was first in the 200 individual medley and the 100 butterfly against Venice
