Lamar Jackson left Monday night’s game against the Browns with what the Ravens euphemistically termed “cramps.” As he tenderly jogged off the field, Jackson was seen on the ESPN broadcast frantically waving a staffer out of his way, like he had somewhere urgent to be:

Jackson was gone for a long time after that. Backup Trace McSorley led the Ravens on a three-and-out followed by a six-minute Browns touchdown drive. Then McSorley took the field for a second straight drive, getting through eight more plays before Jackson re-entered at the two minute warning. (Jackson had left the game with over 13 minutes left in the fourth quarter.)

On his very first play back, Jackson took advantage of busted Browns coverage for a 44-yard touchdown to Marquise Brown. That and a two-point conversion put the Ravens up 42-35, but the Browns weren’t wiped out yet. Cleveland quickly responded with a touchdown, and Jackson had to finish the job. He hustled the Ravens close enough for Justin Tucker to hit a 55-yard game-winner with two seconds left, capping off an incredibly entertaining 47-42 Ravens win. The Browns ended up accidentally running out of their own end zone on the game’s final play.
