Wrong Haverhill

A local restaurateur was surprised to learn a new Mediterranean restaurant was opening in Haverhill. After doing some research and consulting with numerous friends and customers, he came to realize the new restaurant had opened in Haverhill, England. He commented, "how did there get to be a Haverhill, England?"

According to Wikipedia, Haverhill, England, is a town in the county of Suffolk, England, next to the borders of Essex and Cambridgeshire. It lies about 14 miles southeast of Cambridge, southwest of Bury St. Edmunds, and northwest of Braintree and Colchester. About 27,000 people live there.

Changing campaign signs?

What are these trees?

Have you noticed the new trees planted near the staircase at All Saints Church? The Lamplighter doesn't know what kind they are but they have leaves that appear to hug the tree trunk and not expand.

What's happening?

The Lamplighter is wondering what will happen to the Bennett the Cleaners building across from the former St. Joseph's School on Broadway? The building has many broken windows and is boarded up and covered in graffiti.
