Lana Del Rey criticised for wearing mesh face mask to meet fans
Lana Del Rey has been criticised for wearing a mesh face mask as she greeted fans at a recent signing.
The Born to Die singer made an appearance at Barnes and Noble in California, Los Angeles on Saturday, October 3, where she performed a few excerpts from her new poetry book Violet Bent Backwards Over the Grass. While there, she wore a glittery, fishnet style face covering that she had previously used during a cover shoot for Interview magazine.
After posting a video of herself getting ready for the event on Instagram, Del Rey's followers took to the comments section to slam her choice of personal protection.

"YOU MAKE IT SO HARD TO STAN PLEASE WEAR A PROPER MASK," one wrote, as another said: "Ma'am that is the exact mask you told us not to wear."
"You're setting yourself up at this point, we can't defend you," a third posted, alongside two broken heart emojis.
"Lana please wear a real mask I'm begging you to be safe," another said, as a fifth said: "Girl that's not a mask. You make good music but poor decisions."

According to BBC News, Del Rey's sister, Caroline 'Chuck' Grant, who live-streamed the reading on social media, assured that the singer had "tested negative" and kept six feet away from people at all times. The publication also revealed that Del Rey, herself, declined to comment.
Later, pop culture Twitter account @Popcrave shared images of the musician posing next to fans for selfies.
