Lancaster Festival to announce 2023 entertainment lineup on Feb. 11

LANCASTER − It's always a big day when the Lancaster Festival announces its lineup each year. That usually happens in mid-April or early May.

But music fans don't have to wait that long this year. The festival committee is hosting an announcement party at 7 p.m. on Feb. 11 at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Hall at 1936 E. Main St. and will reveal the entertainment lineup.

"We're able to announce earlier than we ever have been," festival executive director Deb Connell said. "We hope everyone will come out. We have a great band playing, Second Gear. There's going to be heavy hors d'oeuvres, cash bar. It's going to be a great night. We're very excited to be doing this in February. It's going to be summer before you know it."

This year's festival will run from July 20 through July 29.

The national events are always featured on the two Saturdays during festival week, with a tribute act on Wednesday of festival week at the Wendel Concert Stage at Ohio University. This year will also feature an extra concert on the stage as the Lancaster Festival Orchestra will perform popular and rock music on July 25.

Connell said the festival board is trying to get everything for the festival booked in advance.

"We're doing well with that," she said. "Most of the pieces of the 2023 festival are set and we're beginning to work a little bit on the 2024 festival at this point. That's really what we have to do in order to be efficient. It's one of the goals I've had since I've been here and we're almost there."

Tickets to the announcement party are $25. They are available online at www.lancasterfestival.org. They are also available by calling the festival office at 740-687-4808 or by visiting the office at 17 W. Wheeling St.

Tickets for the actual festival will go sale at 10 a.m. on April 3. They will be available through the same outlets the party tickets are.
