Lancaster Stormers ink two more players for 2024 season

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) – The Lancaster Stormers, who announced their name change on Thursday, have signed two more players to their 2024 roster.

The Stormers resigned outfielder Chad Sedio and signed right-handed pitcher Jack Labosky on Monday, bringing the total contracted roster for the season to seven.

This will be Sedio’s second season with the Stormers after he joined the team on July 18, 2023. Sedio played in 29 games for the Barnstormers, batting .274 with six doubles, a triple, two home runs and nine RBI. The 29-year-old scored 20 runs during the campaign.

“Chad will play both outfield and infield for us this season (he signed as a second
baseman),” said manager Ross Peeples. “He has a good approach at the plate and has shown
throughout his career how good of a hitter he can be.”

Sedio wrapped up the Barnstormers season on a high in the final game against Staten Island. The Cleveland, Ohio native went 3-for-4 with four RBI, missing the cycle by a single.

Prior to Lancaster, Sedio spent four season in the Detroit Tigers system from 2016 to 2019. Sedio reached Class AAA Toledo. In 2021 Sedio played in the Frontier League with Florence. Sedio spent 2022 with Milwaukee in the American Association and started the 2023 season in Mexico.

Labosky was a pitcher in the Tampa Bay Rays system from 2018 to 2022. During that time Labosky walked 28 batters across 185.1 innings and accumulated a 3.35 EBA.

The 27-year-old played for Duke where he boasted a 2.58 ERA, batted .263 and hit 21 home runs.

“Jack throws a ton of strikes,” Peeples said. “He gets a lot of ground balls and can
either start or relieve. He got the itch to play again after taking last year off, so we are
going to give him that opportunity.”

The Stormers will begin their search for a third consecutive Atlantic League championship on April 24 at Long Island. The home opener at Clipper Magazine Stadium will take place on April 30.
