Land Rover Recalls Range Rover Sport

Land Rover has recalled more than 20,000 Range Rover Sport SUVs from the 2010 and 2011 model years because a part of the rear spoiler could detach while the vehicle is in motion and strike a pedestrian or another vehicle.
Land Rover says it began an investigation after receiving reports of the spoiler’s upper cover detaching from vehicles. The automaker says there have been no crashes or injuries related to this recall.
To fix the problem, dealers will reapply adhesive to ensure that all parts of the spoiler remain attached. This fix will be done free of charge.
The Details
Vehicles recalled: 21,834 Land Rover Range Rover Sport SUVs manufactured between April 27, 2010, and March 28, 2011.
The problem: Because of what Land Rover calls “variability in the assembly” of spoilers, an adhesive that bonds parts of the spoiler together may fail and the upper part could detach while the vehicle is in motion.
The fix: Dealers will reapply adhesive to the spoiler to ensure the parts remain bonded together. The recall is expected to begin Nov. 30, 2020.
