Landslide in Peru affects 200 people, leaves some homeless

STORY: On Thursday afternoon, a landslide on the Cruz de Shallapa hill covered nearby houses.

Some of the people who were left homeless by the landslide slept in Huari's central bus station in folding beds and mattresses as others received shelter in set-up camps.

Ancash region Police chief, Fredy del Carpio Leon, informed rescue teams guarded locals as they were allowed to enter their homes to grab personal belongings before evacuating the zone.
