Lane Kiffin's son Knox, a 2028 QB, has five schools in mind. Three in SEC made the cut

OXFORD — With his 2023 signing class wrapped up, Ole Miss football coach Lane Kiffin can start thinking about the future.

That includes, as it turns out, a very special quarterback prospect in the Class of 2028.

Kiffin reported on Twitter Thursday night that his middle-school-aged son, Knox, already has a list of five favorite schools. Luckily for Kiffin, Ole Miss made the cut. But, given the pedigree of the other schools on Knox's list, landing the 5-foot-7 quarterback might not be so easy.

The Rebels are joined by Oregon, Florida, Georgia and Texas on Knox's list. It's a strong group, though it seems Kiffin's persistent praise of Nick Saban and Alabama has gone unnoticed by his son.

As good as Kiffin's track record is with quarterbacks, these programs have all produced some solid QBs, too. But there's little reason for concern. Even if Knox isn't suiting up in Ole Miss colors in 2028, there's every chance he could arrive later. His dad is the transfer portal king, after all.
