Lane Transit District announces finalists for general manager position, community forum

Lane Transit District has narrowed down its search for a new general manager to three finalists who will be in the community Monday through Wednesday.

The transit agency announced Thursday it would host three finalists who applied for the general manager position:

  • Jameson Auten, the deputy chief executive officer and chief operating officer for the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority

  • Amy Cummings, the statewide planning manager for Parametrix in Reno, Nevada

  • David Trimble, the deputy general manager for the Salem Area Mass Transit District, better known as Cherriots

All three will be in Lane County from Monday through Wednesday to meet with employees, community members and stakeholders and tour LTD facilities and the community, according to a news release.

Auten, Cummings and Trimble also will participate in a community forum Tuesday night.

The forum will take place virtually from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Everyone attending must register in advance at ltd.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_qDYIfXT0RheihNq5rb-qRQ

People can ask one question by raising their hand or typing the question in the chat, and the agency will allow as many people to go as time permits.

LTD's board of directors will meet with the three finalists all day on Wednesday then will decide over the next few weeks who to hire based on interviews and feedback, the release says.

Board members expect to announce the new general manager by June 31.

The chosen candidate will serve as a permanent replacement for Aurora Jackson, who had served as LTD's general manager since late 2015, left the transit agency on Sept. 7 to enter the private sector.

Mark Johnson, the agency's assistant general manager, has been serving as interim manager since Sept. 8.
