Lansing Catholic has 11 student-athletes sign national letter of intent

Lansing, Mich. (WLNS) – On Wednesday at Lansing Catholic High School, 11 student-athletes put pen to paper and signed their national letter of intent to play college athletics.

Among the 11, seven are from the Lansing Catholic girls basketball team. Gabby Halliwill (Calvin University), Faith Jungwirth (Madonna), Anna Richards (Hope College), Leah Richards (Hope College), and TR Repichowski (Cleary University) signed to play basketball. Tessa Roe (DePaul) signed to run cross country and Morgan Wilcox (High Point University) signed to play soccer.

The Richards twin sisters have been playing together since the third grade and are thrilled to keep playing with one another.

“There was a little bit where we didn’t know if we wanted to go to the same college, but now we do and we’re actually deciding to room together our first year,” Anna said. “So, we enjoy living together and doing life together.”

Leah said, “There’s not many people that get to do this, you know, have a twin and go on and play a sport together for another four years. I’m really grateful for that and we’re going to be able to create more memories on and off the court.”

Before going off to college, the Cougars will wrap up their senior basketball season and look to win back-to-back Division 2 state championships.
