Lansing Catholic turns to former player to lead boys basketball program

Lansing Catholic has appointed one of its former players to lead its boys basketball program.

The school announced Friday the appointment of Jake Bullock as its new coach.

Bullock, a 2012 Lansing Catholic graduate, takes over for Brian Dartt. He most recently served as an assistant for the Western Michigan men's basketball team.

"One of the four cornerstones of Lansing Catholic is tradition. As we welcome a new coach, we thank Coach Dartt for all he has done for the program and his players over the last four years," Lansng Catholc athletic director Ken Hintze said in a released statement.

"I am excited at the opportunity in front of us to bring Coach Bullock back home to Lansing Catholic High School. What separated Coach Bullock from other applicants during the interview process were his ability to connect with the kids, his attention to player development and his overall vision of the future of Lansing Catholic basketball."

Bullock went on to star at Aquinas after a strong career at Lansing Catholic. He is one of the all-time points leaders at Aquinas, scoring 1,843 points during his four-year career while being a two-time NAIA All-American.
