Lansing Community College Board approves four for interviews

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – Lansing Community College’s Board of Trustees has selected four applicants to interview for two open positions on the elected body.

Monday night the Board selected Terry Frazier, Ronald Gillum, Becky Brewer and Noel Garcia, Jr. to be interviewed Monday, Jan. 29 at 5:30 p.m. Two of them will be approved to replace Trustees Andrew Abood and Ryan Buck, who submitted letters of resignation in December, with effective dates of Jan. 1.

Both positions are temporary, and appointees may seek election in November 2024. Or they can choose to serve just this calendar year without campaigning to be retained.

There were 25 applicants for the two posts.

Trustees are elected to six-year terms of office. They have to be at least 18 years old, a registered voter and live in one of the school districts that make up the community college’s district. Those school districts are Bath, Dansville, DeWitt, East Lansing, Grand Ledge, Haslett, Holt/Dimondale, Lansing, Leslie, Mason, Okemos, Stockbridge, Waverly, Webberville and Williamston.
