Lansing Community College women's basketball has win streak halted by GRCC

GRAND RAPIDS – Elysia Causley had 12 points for the Lansing Community College women’s basketball team in its 66-35 loss to Grand Rapids Community College on Saturday.

Grand Ledge graduate Skyy Lockhart had six points off the bench and Eastern grad Nautiqa Garcia also scored six points for the Stars, who had their two-game winning streak halted.

LCC (3-11, 2-2) was tied with the Raiders at 11 heading into the second quarter. GRCC took control by outscoring the Stars 23-11 in the second to own a double-digit advantage at the half. The Raiders (6-7, 2-1) extended their lead with a 20-4 scoring advantage in the third.

The Stars shot just 26.4% (14 of 53) in the setback.

Sally Merrill had a game-high 23 points for GRCC.
