Large brush fire in Everett delays Commuter Rail trains
A multi-alarm brush fire in Everett caused smoke to spiral into the sky and forced the MBTA Commuter Rail to temporarily shut down Wednesday.
Viewer video sent into Boston 25 shows the plumes of black smoke looming over Mystic View Road. The Gateway Center shopping area is located a short distance away.
The MBTA Commuter Rails warned riders of significant delays as fire workers worked at 6:40 p.m.

The Newburyport Line Train was forced to remain at North Station well past its scheduled departure date, only pulling out of the station at 7:30, almost an hour after the MBTA first alerted the public of possible delays.
Update: Newburyport Line Train 161 (6:40 pm from North Station) has departed North Station and is operating 40-50 minutes behind schedule due to fire department activity in the Chelsea area.

Everett Firefighters tweeted that they had knocked down the majority of the fire just after 7 p.m.
2nd Alarm BRUSH FIRE all companies working fire mostly contained …putting out additional hot spots. Additional pumps to area of 66 Main Street to grab hydrant and lay in under Rte 16
