It’s the time of year when cities across the country transform into winter wonderlands with help of Christmas lights. Well, if you love Christmas lights and are in New York City during the holidays, get excited. The largest lantern arts festival in North America is headed to Queens.

From December 6 to January 26, the Hello Panda Festival will be held at Citi Field, the baseball stadium for the New York City Mets. There will be six different theme parks within the festival: Dream World, Holiday Wonderland, Discovery Zone, Interactive Music Zone, Sports World, and Community Interactive Zone. More than 120 handcrafted lantern exhibits will utilize about ten million lights to illuminate the stadium. Of course, there will be festive lanterns like an enormous Christmas tree, in addition to vignettes of a fairy tale castle and safari animals.

Hello Panda describes the festival as a multisensory event that’s meant to celebrate culture and diversity. In addition to the lanterns, there will be art exhibits featuring artists from around the world, and live performances from acts across different genres. There will also be a holiday market and hands-on crafts. And of course, no festival would be complete without food. With 60 international food vendors, it won’t be hard to find a dish that gets you in the holiday spirit.

The festival will run from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., and tickets range from $22 to $28 before tax and service fees. What better way to celebrate the season than with millions of lights and a celebration of different cultures? Time to jump on the 7 train.
