Las Cruces man seriously injured in house fire

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 42-year-old man was seriously injured, and two others were rescued after a house fire early Thursday morning, April 11 in Las Cruces, according to the Las Cruces Fire Department.

Shortly after midnight, firefighters were dispatched to a house fire located at 7600 Cortez Drive.

Firefighters found three individuals inside the burning house and quickly removed them, according to LCFD.

A 42-year-old man, who was in the fire, was taken to a local hospital and later transported to a burn facility in Lubbock, Texas, for more advanced care, according to LCFD.

The status of the man’s injuries is unknown at this time.

The other two victims, a male and female, were given care at the scene and declined transportation to a hospital, according to LCFD.

Firefighters successfully took the fire out within 15 minutes, according to LCFD.

The cause of the fire and damages are under investigation.
