Las Vegas hotel rooms expected to spike ahead of Super Bowl LVIII
Jan. 30 (UPI) -- With less than two weeks until Super Bowl LVIII, hotel rooms in Las Vegas are selling out quickly and expected to hit a high of almost $600 the weekend between February 9 and 11.
This is the first time Las Vegas has hosted the Super Bowl, which is expected to draw more than 300,000 visitors to Allegiant Stadium -- home of the Las Vegas Raiders -- on February 11.
The Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers are scheduled to play.
Steve Hill, CEO and president of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority said the city could see more than $600 million in economic impact.
As of Tuesday morning, according to Hotels.com, the cheapest rooms along the Las Vegas strip in Paradise are starting around $250.
On Monday, Fox5 in Las Vegas reported the Fairfield Inn, Courtyard by Marriott and Residence by Marriott near the stadium are all sold out for the weekend of Feb. 9-12.
Staybridge Suites near the Stadium currently has vacancies listed at just over $1,000 per night for Super Bowl weekend.
Some of the more pricier options include the Secret Suites at Vdara ($3,924), ARIA Resort and Casino ($1,900) and the Waldorf Astoria ($1,850).
Unlike the lead up to Formula 1, Super Bowl LVIII has been extremely hyped up. Angela Barbaryan, executive director for StripViewSuites, a property-management agency for short-term rentals and vacation rentals told Skift in the lead-up to Formula 1, the company found their bookings weren't picking up as expected.
"Our rates fluctuate significantly over those dates," said Barbaryan. "We had rates as high as $1,000 a night as low as $100 a night depending obviously on the unit, the location, etc."
According to an analysis by Skift, the average daily rate for a Las Vegas hotel room is forecasted to be $573 between Feb. 9 and Feb. 11.
