Las Vegas man charged with attempted murder after stabbing in Rockford
A woman is in critical condition after she was stabbed in Rockford by a Las Vegas, Nevada man.
Stillman Cunningham, 26, faces attempted murder and aggravated domestic battery charges.
Rockford police said officers responded to the 900 block of 22nd Avenue for reports of a woman being stabbed. Officers were told the victim was taken to the hospital while the suspect, Cunningham, ran away.
Police located Cunningham in the 300 block of Peoples Avenue.
Cunningham discarded a large knife before being arrested, according to police.
Police said the 25-year-old victim and Cunningham knew each other prior the incident.
Cunningham is being held in the Winnebago County Jail.
