The Jacksonville Jaguars will face the Las Vegas Raiders in the Hall of Fame game to kick off the 103rd NFL season. Each team features a new head coach, including former McKinley star quarterback Josh McDaniels in his Raiders' debut.

“We couldn’t be happier with the teams coming to Canton this summer for the Hall of Fame Game," Pro Football Hall of Fame President Jim Porter said in a statement released by the Hall. "Both the Jaguars and the Raiders quickly reached out to the Hall expressing their interest in playing."

Both teams will have former players enshrined this year in the Hall of Fame's Class of 2022. Cliff Branch and Richard Seymour played for the Raiders, while Tony Boselli will be the first Jaguar player to be enshrined.

The annual ceremony is Aug. 6 inside Tom Ben Hall of Fame Stadium. LeRoy Butler, Art McNally, Dick Vermeil and Bryant Young also will be enshrined in this year's class.

This will be the Raiders' fourth Hall of Fame game. Their last appearance was in 2006 against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Jaguars will be making their second appearance. Their last game in Canton was in their inaugural season in 1995.

The Jaguars also feature a new head coach, Doug Pederson, who was hired Feb. 4. He coached four seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, including winning Super Bowl LII against the Patriots, whose offensive coordinator was McDaniels in that game.

“For the Jaguars, this will be their first appearance in Canton since their inaugural season, and the entire franchise is supportive of the team’s first Hall of Fame enshrinee, Tony Boselli," Porter said.

McDaniels, 45, had been New England's offensive coordinator since 2012 before being hired by the Raiders on Jan. 31. He held the same role for the Patriots from 2005-08 before becoming head coach of the Denver Broncos from 2009-10. Overall, McDaniels spent 18 seasons with the Patriots, 13 of them as the team's offensive coordinator. During his time with them, McDaniels helped the Patriots win six Super Bowls, including three as the offensive coordinator.

“For the Raiders, this is another chapter in their storied history, and they will honor Cliff Branch and Richard Seymour," Porter said. "The city of Canton will welcome back Josh McDaniels for his first game as head coach of the ‘Silver and Black’ on the same sideline where he enjoyed so much success with the McKinley Bulldogs.”

The Hall of Fame game is scheduled for 8 p.m., Aug. 4. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m., Friday, March 4.
