Lashrecse Aird presents resolution: SVEC 'bravely, admirably' serves Petersburg 75 years

PETERSBURG — Southside Virginia Emergency Crew [SVEC], the primary EMS organization for the City of Petersburg, hit a major milestone.
Last Monday, former State Delegate Lashrecse Aird presented a resolution to SVEC to recognize their 75 years of service to Petersburg and the Tri-Cities area.
The presentation of the proclamation which took place at SVEC headquarters on Graham Road had been delayed due to the pandemic.
Aird, Chief of Staff Richard Bland College and Candidate for Virginia Senate, District 13, proposed House Resolution #539 on February 19 last year to the House of Delegates along with Delegate Bobby Orrock, 54th District.
SVEC serves 32,000 residents and 23 square miles of Petersburg and answers more than 8,000 EMS service calls each year.
According to the resolution, the House of Delegates admire the organization’s continued contributions to the citizens, businesses and community of Petersburg.
The current 63rd District Representative Kim Taylor was present to celebrate the crew who has been saving lives since 1945.
SVEC's mission is to provide first class emergency medical services in Petersburg in a professional and timely manner 365 days a year, 24/7.
