Yesterday marked the end of an era in the Corvette world—Chevrolet announced that the final C7-generation Corvette—a manual Z06 painted in black—had been assembled. It's the last front-engine Corvette to come out of the company'a Bowling Green assembly plant in Kentucky before the facility retools for mid-engine C8 Corvette production.

If you're interested in owning the final C7, shown above going through final checks before leaving the assembly line, you already missed your chance. The car was auctioned off at Barrett-Jackson's Northeast Auction at Mohegan Sun in July, raking in a whopping $2.7 million for charity.

The car was supposed to be built over a month ago, but UAW strikes caused a delay in completing C7 production until now. The strike delays, combined with the additional time needed to retool the factory and train workers, means C8 production won't officially begin until February 2020. So if you have one on order, expect to wait a bit longer to get your hands on it.
