Last-minute Labor Day travel destinations for any budget

This Labor Day, over 30 million Americans are expected to travel during the three-day holiday -- with a majority of travelers either taking a car or plane.

While experts predict this weekend to be to one of the busiest travel days of the year, there are still millions of people on the fence about going out of town.

If you're waiting until the last minute to book a trip, there a ton of budget locations in the U.S. that are worthwhile. According to Priceline's top analysts, the cheapest places to visit during Labor Day are smaller cities that still offer ample food and activities as well as proximity to larger metropolitans.

Last-minute travel wasn't the only trend researchers discovered. Outdoorsy, an RV marketplace for consumers and pros, revealed that quite a few travelers were interested in spending their extended holiday in the great outdoors. The most popular outdoor destinations were Rocky Mountain, Colorado, Olympic, Washington, Joshua Tree, California, Columbia River Gorge, Oregon and Lake Michigan.
