What is the latest on Davante Adams’ injury after leaving Raiders-49ers joint practice?

Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams had to leave the practice field Friday morning in Henderson, Nevada, after he reportedly took a big hit by a San Francisco 49ers safety Jimmie Ward during joint practice.

Vic Tafur of The Athletic said Adams looked woozy coming off the field.

Even 49ers general manager John Lynch went up to the All-Pro wide receiver star to check on him.

Adams was reportedly pointing to his calf while walking to the locker room with a less limp.

He will be a key target for quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo this season. It’s doubtful the injury is anything serious, but Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels gave an update.

“I don’t think it was crazy serious,” he said. “It’s kind of a bang-bang play. Totally clean on both sides.”

49ers defensive coordinator Steve Wilks said the same.

“I really thought it was just a bang-bang hit,” he said. “Definitely nothing intentional and definitely hoping that he has a speedy recovery because he’s definitely one of the top players in this league. So, I want to see him out there performing and doing his thing.”

Raiders wide receiver Jakobi Meyers said he didn’t see when Adams suffered the injury until he watched the tape after practice.

“I’m just hoping he’s healthy,” Meyers said. “He brings a lot to this team and we appreciate him. I just want him back to himself.”
