Here’s where to get the cheapest gas in Modesto and across California, map shows

This time last year California’s gas prices skyrocketed, and while some residents have since caught a break, others are still dishing out almost $6 per gallon.

The statewide average price for unleaded regular gasoline on Tuesday was roughly $4.82, according to AAA, a roughly $1 decrease from where prices sat one year ago. Parts of Northern California, the San Francisco Bay Area, the Sierra Nevada and the state’s Central Coast harbor the most expensive fuel in the state, between $4.94 and $5.89 per gallon.

Mono County residents living east of the Sierra Nevada pay $5.89 per gallon for regular fuel.

Where is the cheapest gas in California?

Affordable gas isn’t completely far-fetched in the golden state.

As of Tuesday, the cheapest gas in the state was recorded in the Sacramento Valley, according to AAA. Yuba County residents in Northern California pay the cheapest prices at an average of $4.38 per gallon.

The gas monitoring site Gas Buddy lists the cheapest gas prices in the state, as of Tuesday afternoon:

Where is the cheapest gas in Modesto?

In Modesto, gas cost an average of $4.60 per gallon, according to AAA, compared to the U.S. average of $3.44.
