Latest OSAA girls basketball rankings: Gervais No. 1, Salem Academy No. 6.

There will be a big Class 2A girls basketball matchup this week in the Mid-Valley — Gervais against Salem Academy.

Gervais is No. 1 in the OSAA 2A rankings, and Salem Academy is No. 6.

Gervais hosts Salem Academy at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

There are no local teams ranked in the top 10 at the 6A level, with South Salem the highest at No. 17.

Local teams in the top 10 include: In 5A, Silverton (No. 3); in 4A, Cascade (No. 2) and Stayton (No. 9); Willamina (No. 2) and Amity (No. 10) in 3A; and St. Paul (No. 9) in 1A.
