Latest Reading Coronavirus Updates

READING, MA — There were 24 confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Reading as of Sunday, according to the latest numbers from the town.

On Friday, town officials announced that two employees of the Reading Police Department tested positive for the virus. The town previously reported 16 cases late last week.

The Massachusetts case count grew to 6,620 on Tuesday, including 89 deaths. Thirty-three people died over the last 24 hours, the biggest one-day jump the state has seen since the beginning of the outbreak.

The Reading Coalition for Prevention & Support this week developed a guide for managing stress and anxiety during the public health crisis. The town reported its first case of the coronavirus March 18.
