Latest San Ramon Coronavirus Case Count

SAN RAMON, CA — The city of San Ramon has seen 33 new cases of the coronavirus reported in the past two weeks, according to county health data.

That's higher than most of Contra Costa County. Of the 29 Contra Costa regions tracked by county public health officials, San Ramon has the ninth highest number of recently diagnosed COVID-19 cases — just behind Danville, which is tied with Oakley for eighth after reporting 35 cases in the past two weeks.

But when you take population into account, Danville — a smaller city — is worse off than San Ramon, according to county data. San Ramon is home to about 83,000, while Danville is about half as large with a population of 44,000.

Of all Contra Costa regions, Danville has the eleventh highest case rate (80 cases per 100,000 residents), while San Ramon has the ninth lowest case rate in the past two weeks (40 cases per 100,000 residents).

San Ramon has seen 415 COVID-19 cases and two associated deaths since the beginning of the pandemic, according to county data.

There have been a total of 18,763 COVID-19 cases reported in Contra Costa County, including 873 in the past two weeks. There have been 242 deaths.
