Latest Sturgis Motorcycle Rally report adds 8 injury crashes, 51 drug arrests

As the official end of the 83rd Sturgis Motorcycle Rally approaches, the South Dakota Department of Public Safety's latest rally report shows accidents and drug arrests continue to beat out last year's numbers.

According to the daily report, eight more injury accidents occurred between 6 a.m. Thursday and 6 a.m. Friday, bringing the total up to 51 this year, 10 more than the last year-to-date.

None of these crashes resulted in fatalities. DPS has reported three fatal crashes since the motorcycle rally began Aug. 4, equaling the same number of deadly crashes in the same timeframe last year.
