Jan. 10—PUTNAM — Congressman Bob Latta (R-OH-5) reintroduced the No Vote, No Raise Act on Tuesday, Jan. 10. The hope of the bill is to prevent members of Congress from receiving a guaranteed pay raise.

"As Members of Congress, our top priority should be serving the people who elected us, not lining our pockets by increasing our paychecks," said Latta. "The No Vote, No Raise Act is simple; the bill removes automatic pay raises for members, which is allowed under current law. If members wish to increase their pay, it should be completed through a recorded process to ensure every member's vote is public and on record."

The bill was first introduced to the House of Representatives on Feb. 4, 2021. According to the Congress website, the bill was previously referred to the Committee on House Administration and the Committee on Oversight and Reform.
