A Lauderdale Lakes park pavilion went up in flames. Deputies looking for arsonists.

A Broward County park pavilion went up in flames late Thursday afternoon. Broward County deputies now say three men were the cause of the fire.

Just after 5 p.m., Broward Sheriff’s Fire Rescue and deputies responded to a pavilion on fire at Northgate Neighborhood Park, 3555 W. Oakland Park Blvd., deputies said.

The fire was contained to the pavilion and no one was injured, said Broward Sheriff’s Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Michael Kane.

The sheriff’s office said there was damage done to the pavilion and a nearby playground.

Surveillance video released by the sheriff’s office shows three men hanging out under the pavilion a few hours before the fire. Deputies say the rest of the video shows the three men deliberately using trash from a garbage can to start a fire on a bench.

The three suspects fled the area, and the sheriff’s office has not yet released information on them.
