Laura Prepon Gets Candid About Her Quarantine Routine with 2 Kids

Laura Prepon is sharing exclusive new details about her quarantine routine, including the foolproof trick she uses to get her 2-year-old daughter, Ella, to eat vegetables.

The Orange Is the New Black star, 40, recently sat down for an interview with PureWow to promote her brand-new book, You and I, as Mothers: A Raw and Honest Guide to Motherhood. While discussing life at home, Prepon confirmed that she’s self-isolating with her husband, Ben Foster, and their two children: Ella and a 1-month old son.

“I don’t even leave. If we have to do an essential run, my husband does it, so I am home with the kids,” she told PureWow. “It’s been a really interesting process, but we’re just really fortunate that we’re safe and healthy.”

Since she’s cooking more often throughout the day, Prepon has been experimenting with smoothies and recommended freezing veggies for a nutrient-packed snack. “I always keep frozen vegetables and frozen greens—like kale and spinach—in my freezer,” she said. “That way, I can get greens for my daughter by mixing it into a smoothie, so she doesn’t really taste it.”

As for her schedule, Prepon admitted that it mainly revolves around her two children, followed by her now-virtual book tour. “I wake up, feed the baby and hang out with my toddler as much as I can while I’m making breakfast,” the That ’70s Show alum explained. “And then I usually go right into an interview like this or some kind of Zoom interview.”

Although it’s not an ideal situation, Prepon is handling it day by day. “I hear people who are like, ‘Oh, I just rearranged my fridge and decluttered my closet.’ I don’t know how they plan to do that because I feel like it is so busy,” she said. “You work from home and then you’re also running a school and a restaurant at the same time. We’re just figuring it out, and we’re really leaning on our family for help.”

Prepon’s new book, You and I, as Mothers, is designed to fill the gap between pregnancy and motherhood, providing a candid glimpse at her own personal experience. “I wrote this book originally because I felt like there were all of these resources when it came to pregnancy, and then I felt like there was nothing after that. That is the rest of your life. After that, I felt like there was a total void of voices to turn to,” she told PureWow. “I hope it brings some light in the middle of a lot of scariness that’s going on right now.”
