Love Island's Laura Whitmore and Iain Stirling have recently welcomed their first child into the world, and while they haven't revealed details about the baby like their exact birth date or name, Laura has shared insights into her life as a new mum with her fans.

An advocate of using social media in an uplifting way, Laura has made a point to keep it real with her followers in showing the realities of motherhood, rather than a glossy, always perfect Instagram version.

She recently shared a series of photos of herself all dressed up for Celebrity Juice filming, as well as a snap of the inside of her dress featuring nursing pads for her breasts, earning praise from her followers for opening up about milk leakage on the 'gram.

Now, Laura is continuing the conversation around breastfeeding, and changing up the narrative.

Of course, breastfeeding can be super tough. From Paloma Faith opening up about thrush to Elsa Hosk hitting back at trolls for judging her feeding, we only need to take a look at celebrity posts about the topic to understand it's not by any means easy.

But, like most things, when it comes to breastfeeding there are positives and negatives that exist in tandem and we love that Laura is starting a conversation about how empowering it can be.

"Never knew I had such an ability to multitask than when I started breastfeeding. I’ve achieved more with one arm before 9am than in a week in 2020. Edited a script, paid bills, sorted emails. All whilst feeding a living being. That’s productivity," she shared on Twitter and Instagram.

The post started a conversation with fans, who opened up about the joys of breastfeeding and smashing a to-do list all at once.

"Welcome to Motherhood! The world where women become ambidextrous & one handed pros! As well as learning to function on 20 minutes sleep, knowing when a poo is about to occur and how to enjoy cold food/tea/coffee! But we wouldn’t change it for the world," one Twitter user said.

"Super mum! I made my 4 year old lunch and dinner, gave her a bath and brushed her teeth all whilst feeding my 5 week old," another added.

"It's called Superpowers, Laura, amazing how much we can do with a baby in our arms... Congrats you've found yours," someone else commented.

Clearly, Laura's post has resonated with lots of people and it's great to see empowered, uplifting conversations about motherhood happening alongside equally important discussions about the low points that can occur, too. Keep the posts coming please, Laura (including the adorable baby pics)!
