Law enforcement vehicle involved in another crash for the second straight day in Fresno

Another law enforcement vehicle was involved in a car crash in Fresno for the second straight day.

A Clovis police cruiser collided with a vehicle around 7 p.m. Tuesday with the crash occurring on Shaw avenue near the Buffalo Wild Wings and the Save Mart Center.

While details of what led to the crash were not immediately known, Clovis police said two of its officers were responding to a call of a theft occurring at Dick’s Sporting Good and en route to Highway 168.

However, before the police unit could get onto the freeway, it was suddenly involved in a collision with another vehicle.

Clovis police said it was not immediately known if the police vehicle had its emergency lights flashing or sirens on at the time of the crash.

It also wasn’t known if the Clovis police car crashed into the other vehicle or if the other vehicle caused the collision.

Clovis police did say that the two officers involved were not injured.

However, one person in the other vehicle complained of “pain to one of their limbs,” Clovis police said.

Clovis police added it did not expect alcohol or drugs to have played a factor in the collision.

The previous accident involving local law enforcement occurred Monday when a CHP officer slammed into a pole in central Fresno while pursuing a stolen vehicle.
