Law & Order: Organized Crime renewed for season two

Law and Order: Organized Crime has been renewed for a second season by NBC, TVLine reports.
The show was first ordered to series in March 2020 and sees Chris Meloni return to his role as Detective Elliot Stabler. In the show, Stabler returns to the NYPD to lead a task force that deals with international organised crime.
Speaking to the media before the show's renewal, the Law and Order franchise creator Dick Wolf explained what a second season would look like.
The producer said that the second season would have three eight-episode arcs, meaning that the series would have 24 episodes.

"The first third of the season is The Godfather. The second third is American Gangster. And the last third is Scarface," Wold explained.
"And these villains are going to be really bad guys that give [Stabler] a constant source of energy, outrage, belief in justice and a different way of pursuing criminals than we’ve had before."
Organized Crime's second season looks set to air on NBC on Thursday nights later on this year. The episodes will be scheduled as part of the all-Law and Order Thursdays on the network.

The schedule will consist of the following times: Law & Order: For the Defense at 8/7c, Law & Order: Special Victim Unit at 9 and Law & Order: Organized Crime at 10.
Show creator Wolf is no stranger to running a franchise of television shows as he also created the Chicago trio of Chicago PD, Chicago Med and Chicago Fire.
