Law & Order star Kelli Giddish has shared the happy news that she and husband, Beau Richards, welcomed a son in June.

On Instagram, Giddish shared a photo of herself and Richards with their baby boy between them and wrote: "My husband and I welcomed Oldie Richards on June 20th and we are so in love and so very grateful.

"Oldie- you’ve brought immeasurable JOY to me and your daddy and your two brothers (and your grandparents and aunts and uncles!). You wake up smiling and the light you bring to each moment is truly incredible."

Giddish has two sons, Ludo and Charlie, from her previous marriage to Lawrence Faulborn, Oldie is her first child with Richards.

The actress, who plays Amanda Rollins in SVU, announced her pregnancy in June, sharing a black and white photo with her husband, captioned: "Can't wait to welcome our baby boy soon!"

Fans began to speculate that Giddish was expecting after she guest-starred on the third season of Law & Order: Organized Crime with a noticeable baby bump.

Giddish had originally left the franchise in the middle of SVU's 24th season with her character marrying Sonny Carisi and resigning from the Special Victims Unit to go teach at Fordham University.

Her departure came after more than 11 years on the NBC drama.

Following her exit episode, Giddish explained why she decided to leave the show.

"My side of things is just that it's time in the Rollins storyline," she said at the time. "I felt like where it was heading, and where it headed last night, just seemed the right place to leave it right now.

"I am so excited about things going on in my personal life and kind of the mirroring of what's going on in my personal life and in Rollins'. There’s a lot of joy to be experienced."

Law & Order: SVU airs Thursdays on NBC in the US. The show airs on Sky Witness in the UK, with select episodes available on NOW.
