Brittney Griner landed in the United States early Dec. 9, after being released in a prisoner swap. Her return home ends a nearly 10-month saga that landed the WNBA star in the middle of Moscow’s feud with Washington. U.S. officials have said they are still working to secure the release of Paul Whelan, a U.S. Marine turned corporate security executive who was convicted of espionage and is serving a 16-year sentence in a Russian prison.
