Lawson teen seriously injured in Thursday crash

Sep. 21—A 16-year-old was hospitalized with serious injuries Thursday after a one-vehicle crash three miles east of Holt, Missouri.

The teenager, of Lawson, Missouri, was driving a 2012 Ford Explorer on Route PP in Clinton County when a vehicle defect caused the Explorer to accelerate around a curve, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol crash reports.

The vehicle then traveled off the road and struck an embankment.

The teen was taken to Liberty Hospital by Holt EMS for serious injuries.

He was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to crash reports.
