The Graduate School of Theology of Lubbock Christian University’s (LCU) Alfred and Patricia Smith College of Biblical Studies announced a new, fully online, graduate certificate in Children’s Ministry at the National Children and Youth Ministry Conference in Colorado Springs in early January.

Lubbock Christian University will partner with several local independent school districts to provide employees the opportunity to earn a graduate education degree.

Called Ed-Vantage, employees from Lubbock ISD, Lubbock-Copper ISD, Frenship ISD and Brownfield ISD who take part in this new program will receive a 10% discount on tuition, as well as a $2,000 scholarship, according to a news release from the university.

"The LCU Ed-Vantage initiative allows us to partner with area districts and their employees as we continue the important work of equipping future educational leaders for service in schools on the South Plains," said Sam Ayers, LCU director Graduate Director. "We are committed to engaging our students in meaningful learning experiences as we address theory and practice."

LCU School of Education has multiple graduate degree offerings. Such programs will help educators go on to become principals or superintendents and specialists in dyslexia or special education.

“Strong communities start with strong schools, and the LCU Ed-Vantage program is one way that LCU is helping our communities to be stronger, healthier, and more vibrant,” Kent Gallaher, provost for LCU, said.
