CHARLEVOIX COUNTY — Leadership Charlevoix County has announced the members of its Class of 2024.

This is the 12th program class for the nonprofit organization, which now boasts 189 alumni. The organization’s mission is to grow and encourage community members into playing a more active role in participation and leadership in nonprofit organizations, township, city and county government, event and festival boards, and more.

Throughout the nine-month program, the curriculum is designed to focus on community/county awareness, networking opportunities and focuses on leadership development through an educational and hands-on approach.

The 17 members of the class began their leadership journey with an orientation meeting and mentor networking session at Boyne Mountain Resort. Their overnight retreat was held on Beaver Island.

The class meets one day a month until their graduation in May of 2024. In addition to their monthly sessions, each LCC participant must present a Personal Leadership Plan, have an individual role in the class Community Service Project and meet monthly with their mentor in order to meet the program’s graduation requirements.

This year’s class includes: William Church from the Charlevoix County Sheriff’s Department, Pamela Decker from Charlevoix County Community Foundation, Beau Detcher from EJ, Jake Dodds from Charlevoix County Transit Authority, Sarah Elgart from the Charlevoix Area Chamber of Commerce, Mary Grayson from the Boyne District Library, Morgan Holecheck from 4Front Credit Union, Tyler Konwinski from Boyne Mountain Resort, Davis LaBelle from Pat O’Brien and Associates, Alexander Mason from Great Lakes Energy, Nicki Morris from North Central Michigan College, Tim Nemecek from City of Boyne City, Melissa Przbyszewski from East Jordan Family Health Center, Karis Rosenow from Charlevoix County Probate Court, Tamara Weidlich from Northland Self-Storage, Matthew Whitley from Grandvue Medical Care Facility, and Alicia Wilson from Boyne Mountain.
