Leadership Geauga gets $60,000 grant from Cleveland Foundation

May 22—Leadership Geauga, a nonprofit organization committed to developing effective community leaders in Geauga County, recently announced that it has received an additional $60,000 grant from the Cleveland Foundation to fund the Leadership Geauga Heritage Program for 2023-2024.

This program is specifically aimed at retirees who live or have worked in Geauga and are interested in making a positive impact on their community. It is an initiative designed to help participants gain a deeper understanding of the history, culture, and natural resources of the county, according to a news release.

Through a series of workshops, tours and presentations, retirees learn about the people, places and events that have shaped the region. The program also highlights opportunities for retirees to get involved in local

initiatives and make a difference in their community.

"We are pleasantly surprised and honored to receive this grant from the Cleveland Foundation," Pam Carson, director of Leadership Geauga's Heritage Program, stated in the release. "Thanks to this grant, we can continue to offer this important program and provide retirees with the knowledge and tools they need to make

Geauga County a better place."

The Cleveland Foundation has a history of supporting organizations that promote leadership development and community engagement, according to the release. The foundation stated it recognizes the important role that retirees can play in their communities and is proud to support Leadership Geauga's efforts to empower retirees.

"The Heritage Program continues to align with Encore Cleveland's dual commitment to engaging the time, energy, and talents of individuals and solving local challenges," Stephanie Molnar, program

manager of Cleveland Foundation's Leadership Development, stated in the release
