Leadership Nashville reveals Class of 2022-23, empowers next generation of executives

Leadership Nashville this week announced its 44-person Class of 2022-23, citing the diversity of program participants as the key to the success of the organization's 46-year tenure.

The organization runs yearly, nine-month executive leadership programs that strive to improve connections between community leaders and empower them to make decisions that support Nashville’s growth. This year's class was selected from more than 200 applicants.

This year's program will begin in September.

“Leadership Nashville was founded in 1976 as an executive-level leadership organization rather than a leadership training program," executive director Evette White said. "It provides a three-dimensional view of the city and becomes a bridge, connecting people and the issues facing this community."

Executive director of Leadership Nashville Evette White announced the 2022-23 program participants on June 13, 2022, and cited diversity as a key facet of the program's attempt to build bridges in Nashville's leadership community.

White said Leadership Nashville does not attempt to provide solutions through programming. Instead, the organization strives to introduce leaders to various viewpoints.

“In fact, our participants are so diverse that they would never agree with each other – by design," White said. "Instead, we expose them to various viewpoints on each issue, believing that Nashville will be stronger because decisions these leaders make in the future will come from a broadened, enlightened perspective.”
