The League of Legends European Championship (LEC) regular season has concluded for the Summer, and the MAD Lions are headlining the LEC All-Pro Team awards for the split.

Both MAD Lions and G2 Esports ended the regular season tied atop the standings with a 12-6 score for a total of 36 points each. However, as the first team to secure the record, G2 Esports have taken the top spot.

MAD Lions claim almost all Summer LEC First All-Pro Team Awards

Despite being the second team to make it to 12-6, most of the votes went to the members of MAD Lions.

In fact, four members made it to the First All-Pro Team: Jungler Javier "Elyoya" Prades Batalla, mid laner Yasin "Nisqy" Dinçer, bot laner William "UNF0RGIVEN" Nieminen, and support player Norman "Kaiser" Kaiser. This is notably UNF0RGIVEN’s first year in the LEC.

Sergen "Broken Blade" Çelik, the top laner for G2 Esports, is the only player outside of MAD Lions to make it into the First All-Pro Team.

Three other members of G2 Esports have been inducted into the LEC Second All-Pro Team, including: Jungler Marcin "Jankos" Jankowski, mid laner Rasmus "caPs" Borregaard Winther, support player Raphaël "Targamas" Crabbé.

Team Vitality’s top laner Barney "Alphari" Morris and Rogue’s bot laner Markos "Comp" Stamkopoulos also make the list.

After a rough start in the Summer Split, G2 Esports turned things around and finished first in the Summer Split’s regular season.

The Summer Playoffs seeding system guarantees G2 a fourth-place finish regardless of how they do in the Summer Playoffs.

And because the LEC has been given an extra spot at Worlds, G2 have secured their slot at the League of Legends World Championship 2022.

The LEC Playoffs will begin on Friday (26 August), kicking off with a match between Rogue Esports and MAD Lions in the Upper Bracket Semifinals.

The last two days of the playoffs will be held in Malmö Arena in Malmö, Sweden, on 10-11 September.
