Leap year babies get free cupcakes at Tops, here’s how

(WETM) – Tops Friendly Markets is offering free cupcakes to those born on February 29 to celebrate the leap year and all of the birthdays those born on this unique date miss as a result.

Since leap-year babies only truly get a birthday every four years, Tops wants to celebrate this occasion by offering these babies a treat, as 2024 is a leap year.

“We’re excited to celebrate all the Leapling birthday’s,” said the VP of Marketing & Promotional Strategy for Tops, Aaron Payne. “Every year, there is always a lot of attention paid to the first baby of the new year. Why not shine the spotlight on our Leapling friends?”

From Feb. 29 until March 2, 2024, Tops will give away a free four-pack of Tops gourmet cupcakes to anyone born on Feb. 29 who brings in their ID or birth certificate.

The pack of four symbolizes the birthday they get to celebrate this year and the other three that they have missed in the meantime.
