Leap Day deals available on donuts, ice cream and more. Here's where to get Brevard deals.

In case you haven’t heard, February has an extra day this year thanks to Leap Year.

While you may question what the point is of this event, which occurs every four years, there are some benefits for you. Plenty of Brevard restaurants and even some retailers are offering special deals in honor of the rare day.

There also are specials at businesses outside Brevard if you're up for a drive to the Orlando area to cash in on them.

If your birthday falls on Leap Day, there are even more offerings available for you.

We compiled a list of places to visit and take advantage of the deals.

Leap Day deals around Brevard

• 7-Eleven: Get five wings for $2.29 on Feb. 29, according to Fast Food Secrets.

• BJ’s: Get a Pizookie for $2.29 on Feb. 29 with a minimum purchase of $10. For dine-in customers only, according to Fast Food Secrets.

• Buffalo Wild Wings: Buy one order of boneless wings at Buffalo Wild Wings and get another order free, according to Kiplinger.

• BurgerFi: Leap day babies get a 20% discount. Mention the deal to get the discount. Available for dine-in only at participating locations.

• Chipotle: Rewards members can get a free guac on Feb. 29 if they use the code EXTRA24 at checkout on the Chipotle app and Chipotle.com. In addition, the chain also is holding an "Extra Day, Extra Codes" challenge on Instagram from Feb. 26 through Feb. 29, awarding free guac for a year to 29 fans who uncover keywords hidden in its Instagram account. Here's how it works.

• Hooters: HootClub Rewards members with the app can get a select appetizer for $2.29 or a $2.29 Corona Extra beer on Feb. 29, according to Fast Food Secrets.

• Hungry Howie's:  Buy one large pizza with one or more toppings at regular price, and second a second large one-topping pizza for 29 cents. Offer good from Feb. 26-Feb. 29, according to the Krazy Coupon Lady.

• Insomnia Cookies: With any purchase on Feb. 29, customers will get an extra traditional cookie. Leap Day babies can get a free six-pack of classic cookies through Feb. 29. No purchase necessary. Bring proof of your birthday.

• Jeremiah's Italian Ice:  J-List loyalty members can get a small ice or gelatis Feb. 29 for 96 cents. The promotion honors the company's beginning in 1996, which also happened to be a leap year.

• Krispy Kreme: Get a dozen original glazed doughnuts for $2.29 with the purchase of any regularly priced dozen on Feb. 29. Are you a leap year baby? Show proof of your birthday for a free dozen original glazed doughnuts, no purchase necessary.

• Krystal: Get a free Krystal with any online purchase using promo code: LEAPDAY on Feb. 29, according to Fast Food Secrets.

• Long John Silver’s: Use promo code LEAPDAY to get a free piece of fish or chicken through Feb. 29, according to Fast Food Secrets.

• Marco’s Pizza: Enjoy 29% off all menu-priced pizzas with promo code LEAP29 through March 3. The deal is available for online and app orders, according to Fast Food Secrets.

• Noodles & Company: Noodles Rewards Members will receive 29% off on orders of $29 or more on Feb. 29.

• Papa Murphy’s: Spend $20 and get 29% off with code LEAP24 on Feb. 29. This is valid for online orders only, according to Fast Food Secrets.

• Paris Baguette: Paris Baguette Rewards members can get a medium hot or iced coffee with purchase on Feb. 29.

• Smoothie King: Use the Smoothie King Healthy Reward app on Feb. 29 to get 29% off a 20-ounce of larger smoothie when you spend $15 or more.

• Starbucks: Check your Starbucks Rewards app to see if you received a BOGO leap year deal.

• Taco Bell: Rewards members can get a Crunchwrap for $2.29 in the app on Feb. 29, according to Fast Food Secrets.

• Wendy's: Get a free Cinnabon Pull-Apart during breakfast hours Feb. 29, while supplies last. Wendy's said customers can get one per vehicle in the drive thru or one per dining room transaction.

• Wings and Rings: Buy 10 wings and get five free on Feb. 29. Offer available for takeout and in-store orders, with a limit of two per customer at participating locations, according to Fast Food Secrets.

• Although there is no Build-A-Bear: location in Brevard, there are some in Orlando. If your birthday is on Feb. 29, visit any participating Build-A-Bear Workshop to build a birthday treat bear for $4 while supplies last.
