Fans of the Bridgerton book series and Netflix show can hear more about them from the author who brought them to life during a Zoom presentation from the Rock Island Public Library.

The library is virtually hosting award-winning romance author Julia Quinn for a Zoom presentation called “Romance & Regency with Bridgerton’s Julia Quinn” on February 20 at 7 p.m.

The event is presented by Illinois Libraries Present, a collaboration with 200 libraries statewide featuring virtual events with bestselling authors and respected speakers.

Julia Quinn is a #1 New York Times bestselling and award-winning romance author who has written almost 40 novels, including the popular Bridgerton family series. The Netflix series based on the books premiered in 2020. Her newest novel, Queen Charlotte, is co-written with television producer Shonda Rhimes and covers Bridgerton’s Queen Charlotte and King George III’s love story and how it created a societal shift.

Quinn will be joined by Sarah MacLean, bestselling historical romance author and romance columnist for The New York Times, The Washington Post and Bustle. MacLean also co-hosts the weekly romance podcast Fated Mates.

The presentation from Quinn is made possible by Illinois Libraries Present (ILP), a statewide collaboration among public libraries offering premier events.
