UPDATE: Man killed in Harrison Twp. motorcycle crash identified

UPDATE @ 10:05 a.m. (May 26):

A Miamisburg man was killed in a crash involving a motorcycle and a utility truck Wednesday afternoon in Harrison Twp., according to the Montgomery County Coroner.

Scott Dodds, 61, was identified Thursday morning as the victim killed in the crash on Needmore Road near Wagner Ford Road Wednesday, Montgomery County Coroner Dr. Kent Harshbarger said in a media release.

Dodds’ cause and manner of death are still under investigation, Harshbarger said.

The crash was reported around 4:15 p.m. Wednesday involving a motorcyclist and a Ford F750 utility truck.

A preliminary investigation found the truck attempted to make a left turn to travel west on Needmore Road out of the parking lot of City Electric Supply, a spokesperson for the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said in a media release Wednesday.

The truck pulled in front of a motorcycle that was headed east on Needmore Road, the sheriff’s office said.

Dodds was pronounced dead at the scene by medics.

The driver and two passengers in the truck had no injuries as a result of the crash.
